Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan supplies a vocal contribution to the musical ‘Helen Of Troy’ which is created by AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson. According to the official Cranberries website is O’Riordan involved in the project together with many other artists, of which the names are not mentioned yet.Johnson hopes to make the musical debut before the end of the year in London.
Johnson composed the music and the lyrics for the musical, together with the British composer Brendan Healy. Last year the singer wanted to perform the show for the first time in Florida, but that was postponed because of financial troubles. De musical isn’t perfect by a long shot yet, even O’Riordan hasn’t heard the ‘end product’ yet.
Dolores O’Riordan is next to that also very busy with her solo stuff. The last album by The Cranberries was released in November 2001. After the release the band left the label MCA and since then they haven’t released a new album.
Tomorrow night (July 30) AC/DC playes during the benefit Molson Canadian Rocks For Toronto together with bands like The Rolling Stones and Rush. On the 9th of September there will be a re-release of the album ‘Bonfire’, consisting of five CD’s.
